Vietnam minister arrested in repatriation flight bribery scandal
A high-ranking Vietnam government official was arrested in connection with a bribery scheme related to the repatriation flight programme during the pandemic. Deputy foreign minister To Anh Dung is accused of taking kickbacks along with two other officials.
Vietnam arranged nearly 800 charter flights to bring people home from 60 countries during the pandemic. The ongoing investigation has led to five other arrests since January.
