Viking Cruises announces first Asian itineraries

Saturday, 18 Jan, 2017 0
Viking Cruises has unveiled itineraries for its first foray into ocean cruising in Asia Pacific.

After its 2018 launch, Viking Spirit arrives in the region on a 21-day sailing from Athens to Mumbai in August 2018, followed by a 16-day Mumbai-to-Bangkok sailing.

It will also offer sailings between Hong Kong and Beijing and Hong Kong to Bangkok during the autumn of 2018.

Cruises will also call at Bali on itineraries from Sydney or Bangkok during the 2018-2019 winter season.

The Asia sailings are part of a raft of new itineraries announced around the world over the next two years.

The soon to launch Viking Sky will sail from Miami to the Western Caribbean, Panama Canal and Central America while the line will embark on its first world cruise in 2017 when the Viking Sun launches.

"Our destination-focused ocean itineraries are built on the same successful principles as our river itineraries — we offer our guests more time in port, enriching cultural experiences and the best-designed ships at sea. Starting later this year, our guests will have even more choices to explore around the world in ‘the Viking way,’" said Viking chairman Torstein Hagen.
