VIP lounges next on airline’s hit list?
With airlines cutting costs everywhere, it would seem airline VIP clubs could be the next victim. But apparently this perk may remain in place.
“The big traditional US airlines are operating fewer airport clubs than before the Sept. 11 terrorism, but none appear poised to close down that part of their business,” wrote USA TODAY.
The Big Six operate 193 airport clubs in the US and abroad.
Airline officials say the clubs give them an opportunity to build customer loyalty. And USA TODAY quoted officials who said there were no immediate plans to close them.
