Virgin Atlantic wings it back to Mumbai
Virgin Atlantic is to resume Mumbai-Heathrow services at a time when India’s airlines are flying through storm clouds.
Kingfisher Airlines recently confirmed that it has dumped its Mumbai – Heathrow service.
Virgin Atlantic is resurrecting the route that it abandoned in 2009. The daily, three-class flights will resume from London on Sunday, October 28 with good connections to cities in the US, including New York, Boston, Chicago and Washington
Since 2009, passenger numbers on the Mumbai-London sector have grown by 9% to more than one million, making it Heathrow’s 12th busiest long haul route.
Virgin will operate an Airbus 330-300 on the route, and will offer the airline’s new Upper Class Dreamsuite.
