Virgin takes off with new fare structure
Virgin Australia has launched a new fare structure which offers Virgin Australia, Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue flights the option of purchasing Saver, Flexi or Premium (Premium Economy / Business) fares.
There will be no change to V Australia fare types.
For example, a $199 Virgin Australia Flexi fare between Sydney and Melbourne includes priority checkâ€in, checked baggage allowance, a food and beverage package and the ability to change flight date and time.
A Saver fare on the same route would be $109, while Premium would come in at $425.
Saver fares allow flyers to pre-purchase extras such as a checked baggage allowance, inâ€flight entertainment or food and beverage on board.
Saver flights can be cancelled or changed up to 24 hours before scheduled departure for a fee.
Flexi fares will include a food and beverage package, priority check-in, checked baggage allowance of 23kg and the chance to change time and date of booking up to 24 hours of scheduled flight with no fee.
