Card payment processor Visa has signed an agreement with US and Chinese authorities to support US-China Tourism Year 2016.

Visa has inked a deal with the China National Tourism Administration and the US Department of Commerce to support a series of events throughout the year aimed at increasing tourism flows and enhancing cross-cultural awareness.

Visa will oversee consumer cardholder and travel programs with US banks to bolster the ‘Beautiful China’ campaign and a range of social media activities showcasing the work of Chinese photographers entitled #SeeChinaFromTheInside.

Visa announced the three-way partnership during an event at the Great Wall of China last week which was attended by 1,000 invited US visitors.

Visa is also working closely with Brand USA to boost tourism ties between the two countries.
