VisitScotland starts search for new chair
VisitScotland has begun the search for a new chair to replace Mike Cantlay.
Cantlay, who has held the position for more than five years, will step down from the post on March 31.
The new three-year position is being advertised by the Scottish Government with an appointment planned for spring 2016.
The chair will lead a board of eight people and will be responsible for ‘driving the strategic direction of VisitScotland, developing collaboration with key stakeholders, representing Scotland on the global stage and providing advice and guidance to Scottish ministers on tourism issues’.
"It is with a heavy heart that you leave an organisation that you feel passionately for, but at the same time it is a fantastic job," said Cantlay.
"We are looking for someone with real vision, expertise and enthusiasm to drive Scottish tourism forward in what is a challenging and competitive marketplace."
Applications close on November 24, 2015.
