Von Essen completes Luxury Family Hotels deal

UK-based Luxury Family Hotels has been acquired by von Essen Hotels for an undisclosed sum.

Luxury Family Hotels operates Woolley Grange, Wiltshire, Fowey Hall, Cornwall, Moonfleet Manor, Dorset and Ickworth Hall, Suffolk, specialising in facilties for families. 

Von Essen will be creating a third category of distinct hotels within its portfolio collection to complement and expand the existing Classic and Country Sets.

The von Essen collection of hotels includes Cliveden, Berkshire, The Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath, Ston Easton Park near Bath, Thornbury Castle near Bristol, Bishopstrow House, Warminster, Congham Hall in Norfolk, New Park Manor in the New Forest, Lewtrenchard Manor in Devon, The Mount Somerset in Taunton, Buckland Manor in Broadway, Lower Slaughter Manor and Washbourne Court in Lower Slaughter and The Elms near Worcester, Dalhousie Castle in Bonnyrigg near Edinburgh, Sharrow Bay in the Lake District, The Greenway in Cheltenham and Homewood Park near Bath.

Andrew Davis, executive chairman and founder of von Essen hotels, said: “We are delighted to have acquired the properties owned by Luxury Family Hotels, with the setting, style and ethos of the hotels complimenting perfectly those already in the von Essen collection. 

“This, together with the opening of our first multimillion spa project at New Park Manor and our 2006 development plans is an important acquisition and an exciting stage in the expansion of von Essen meaning that von Essen hotels are truly coming of age.”
