Vroom, vroom on the Costa Serena

SYDNEY: Passengers aboard the new Italian luxury liner, Costa Serena, will get the chance to experience life in the very fast lane thanks to an authentic Grand Prix driving simulator as used by race drivers in training.

“It’s not possible to excel in the luxury cruise market anymore with just the best cocktails and the biggest chandeliers,” says CruiseAgents managing director, Brett Dudley, one of only two Preferred Sales Agents (PSA) for Costa Cruises in the SE Asian region.

“Cruise lines must provide a total experience to stay competitive. The state-of-the-art GP simulator and the superb Samsara Spa are just two attractions on Costa’s new flagship vessel being launched this month.”

Professional race driver, Pierre Combot, will set the initial fastest lap on the simulator. Passengers can then seek to match his fastest time on actual race tracks from around the world including, Suzuka, Interlagos and Zandvoort.

Costa Serena, 112,000 gross tonnage, is set for delivery this week and will join her sister ship, Costa Concordia, which entered service in June 2006.
