Walt Disney World to host 2022 Special Olympics USA Games
Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando will be the official host site for the 2022 Special Olympic USA Games.
The week-long Games will be held at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from June 5-12, the company announced.
It continues a long standing cooperation with Special Olympics’ competitions, Disney says.
Similar events are hosted each year at Disney which includes the State Summer Games, the State Fall Classic and the State Golf Championships.
"An event of this scale happens because of the thousands of dedicated volunteers who are passionate supporters and super fans, which is why Disney is also proud to be the Presenting Partner of the 2022 USA Games Volunteer Program," it said in a blog post.
At the same time, a new logo for the 2022 USA Games was unveiled, which is the first to be designed by athletes themselves.
It was a collaborative effort by nine athletes including four from the Sunshine State.
