Why woman only trips do not work
If you’ve ever wondered why mixed tours work but women only organizations have trouble selling trips, the Women’s Travel Club has some answers.
A tour operator since 1992, the club cites overpricing of trips and single supplements as major reasons discouraging women’s groups from booking trips.
“Women earn less, are more price sensitive and want private rooms frequently,” the group says.
Other reasons include too short selling times (“women have more combined work/family obligations and need more advance notice”) and tous sometimes forget to provide enough details (“Women are concerned about travel pace, light menus, etc.”).
Another hang-up: limited staff time to sell the tour (“Women will not book, if rushed on the telephone, or not supplied with exact information”).
