The wife of Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive Gary Verity has died.
Helen Verity had been battling the terminal stages of cancer since he joined the tourism body as chief executive last year.
Welcome to Yorkshire chairwoman Clare Morrow said she passed away in the early hours of yesterday morning, peacefully at their farm in Coverdale.
“I’m sure you will want to join with me in offering condolences to Gary and his young daughter Lily,” she said.
