Wizz Air Abu Dhabi suspends restart of Russia flights
Wizz Air’s United Arab Emirates based unit has suspended a planned restart of Russia flights.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, which is a joint venture between Wizz Air and UAE holding firm ADQ, earlier announced it would restart flights to Moscow in October.
It is now postponing it until further notice.
“Wizz Air regrets to inform its customers that the airline has had to defer the start of operations from Abu Dhabi to Moscow due to industry supply chain limitations,” the airline said.
It received online criticism after announcing plans to resume the route.
It stopped operating flights to Moscow after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The airline will contact customers booked on flights with alternative rebooking options or to arrange refunds.
