Wizz Air denies rumours of sale
Budget airline Wizz Air has denied rumours started by a Dutch website that it is discussing a sale to Air France-KLM.
The website claimed Air France-KLM was in advanced negotiations to buy the Hungarian carrier, which operates flights from London Luton Airport.
Air France-KLM already owns low-cost, Netherlands-based airline Transavia.
However, Wizz Air said: "Because of its success, Wizz Air receives unsolicited inquiries from time to time from interested potential investors. There are no such discussions currently underway."
Wizz Air abandoned plans in June to float on the London Stock Exchange, via which it had hoped to raise €200 million to fundits expansion in east and central Europe. It blamed "market volatility in the airline sector".
