Woman dies after falling from Beijing amusement park ride
An investigation is under way after a woman was killed on an amusement park ride in Beijing.
The accident took place at Leduogang Amusement Park in Changping, Beijing, where a 51 year old tourist from Shanxi province fell out of her seat on the ‘Fly through the Forbidden City’ motion simulator ride.
She fell about 30 feet from the ride and is thought to have died almost instantly.
A preliminary inspection suggests she came loose from her seat but did not say if that was due to faulty equipment.
The ride, which attracts about 2,400 people a day, has been closed while the investigation continues.
The ride lifts people up on a platform and ‘travels’ through Chinese history using real-time movement and special effects.
