Women travelers have great expectations
When it comes to making travel decisions, women are often choosing because of emotional rewards, says a new study.
Women respondents to a Roper Public Affairs survey for Meredith Corporation wanted vacations that include emotional rewards of relaxation from daily routines.
The women also wanted to re-connect with family and friends and chances to re-invent their personal passions via adventure, freedom and escape.
A huge majority of 96% said they wanted vacations that “create memories.”
Almost half of the women surveyed said they booked their most recent vacation entirely by themselves.
The survey found eight out of ten women use search engine Web sites such as Google and Yahoo to research vacations.
The survey was based on 1,678 women travelers aged 18 and over who traveled at least 50 miles from home in the past three years.
