Worldspan bags Worldchoice
Worldchoice has selected Worldspan as its preferred GDS.
The agent consortium boasts around 700 agent members in the UK. They will be able to choose from a number of Worldspan products, including Intercative World Files and Power Products. Agents will also be able to sign up for Total Rate, a program which was launched last month, and allows agents to book web fares and no-frills fares.
The deal is particularly lucrative to Worldspan because the GDS could benefit from the potential alliance between Worldchoice and two other consortias; the Travel Trust Association and MidConsort. The new alliance, which would be called the Independent Travel Agents’ Alliance would include 1,400 agents.
