Wyndham adds its name to a dozen brands
Wyndham Hotel Group is making some significant changes to its economy and midscale brand names.
A dozen of its brands will have their names tweaked with the addition of the words ‘by Wyndham.’
The Days Inn brand name now becomes Days Inn by Wyndham and Ramada will be renamed Ramada by Wyndham.
Other brands affected are AmericInn, Travelodge, Howard Johnson, Baymont, Dolce, Trademark, Dazzler, Esplendor and Ramada Encore.
It means logos and hotel signs will be revamped for thousands of properties.
The change comes as Wyndham Worldwide plans to spin off the core hotel business into a separately entity away from the timeshare business.
It will solidify brand awareness across the portfolio, Wyndham says.
"This new designation for our brands is a celebration of the accomplishments we’ve made in our mission to make travel possible for everyone," said Barry Goldstein, Wyndham’s executive vice president and CMO.
The changes will start appearing in digital collateral from April 16.
"Guests look to names they trust, like Wyndham, which they know means a quality experience and exceptional service," said Lisa Checchio, senior vice president, global brands.
"Putting that powerful name on the front door drives trial and builds tremendous awareness."
