Wyndham names APAC president
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has appointed Joon Aun Ooi as president of Asia Pacific region.
Ooi takes over effective June 1 in the newly created role.
If follows a business restructuring, integrating the Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim business with the Greater China division.
It comes as Leo Liu, president of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Greater China steps down.
Mr Ooi joined Wyndham in 2013 as VP for openings and operations, Greater China and previously held various executive positions at IHG in Asia and Greater China.
He also served as VP of strategy and hotel openings (Asia Pacific) at Hilton Worldwide.
"Across APAC, the consolidation will enable the company to leverage on a broader pool of resources, allowing it to strengthen its strategic positioning to support existing operations," he said.
"I look forward to working closely with the talented teams across Greater China and South East Asia and the Pacific Rim, as we continue our focus and in preparing them for recovery."
