A young Briton has been shot dead while on holiday in Trindad.

Adrian St John, aged 22, a recruitment consultant and aspiring professional cricketer, is believed to have been killed during a robbery.

Alleyn Cricket Club in Dulwich, southeast London, tweeted: Adrian St John, who played for us 85 times from 2009 to 2014, has been murdered in Trinidad. We’re devastated." Adrian St John, who played for us 85 times from 2009 to 2014, has been murdered in Trinidad. We’re devastated."

A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: "We are in contact with authorities following the death of a British national in Trinidad and are ready to provide consular assistance."
