Cities of Music - News & announcements
Cities of Music
Music is an important part of our lives, and it can also be a significant aspect of our travel experiences. Summer festivals may be dwindling but that doesn’t mean there is no reason to begin planning for the next holiday around music. Here, we look at the eight must-visit places in the world for every music lover, from bucket list venues and music-themed attractions to the most iconic festivals.
Bucket list venues
Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, Colorado
On the outskirts of Denver at 6,450 feet above sea level, Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre is a geological marvel, located at a unique point where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains. It is the only naturally occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheatre in the world. Since its grand opening as a venue in 1941, Red Rocks has attracted numerous big-name musicians including The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross. In addition to concerts and festivals, Red Rocks hosts yoga classes and film screenings in the summer months. www.colorado.com
Whisky a Go Go, Los Angeles
As long as there has been a Los Angeles rock scene, there has been the Whisky A Go-Go. It is one of the world’s most iconic music venues and ever since it opened on the Sunset Strip in 1964, it has played host to rock ‘n’ roll’s most important bands, from the Doors, Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin to today’s up and coming new artists. www.visitcalifornia.com
Music-themed attractions
Museum of Pop Culture, Seattle
As the birthplace of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Jimi Hendrix to name a few, Seattle’s music heritage is world-renowned. Nowhere is the music scene better celebrated than at the Museum of Pop Culture (MOPOP). Designed by Frank Gehry, the eccentric, colourful building is said to represent the energy and fluidity of music, and is best appreciated from the top of the Space Needle. Inside, there are permanent exhibitions on the aforementioned musicians, a guitar gallery displaying instruments by artists such as Slash and Dave Grohl, and a sound lab where visitors can make their own music. visitseattle.org

Travel Secrets Provides ‘Tips from a Travel Industry Expert’ to Help Travelers Bag a Cheap Hotel Room - News & announcements
With its new blog and YouTube series, Travel Secrets is expanding its efforts to help its members save on their next hotel stay
TravelSecrets.com - the members-only online travel club on a mission to help its community find substantial savings when booking hotels - is continuing to expand its efforts to help members save on their travels.
Founded by a travel industry expert with decades of industry experience, Travel Secrets was founded to help its members save an average of 10-30% on hotel rates compared to rates available on major hotel booking sites. At a time of record inflation and sky-high travel-related costs, Travelsecrets.com users can rest assured knowing they are finding the lowest possible prices for their accommodations.
In addition to these savings, Travel Secrets recently launched a blog and YouTube series that aims to further help its members save. The ‘Tips from a Travel Industry Expert’ included in posts and episodes will cover a range of topics all designed to teach travel hacks that will save. Its first episode, titled “Hacks for Lower Hotel Costs When Booking From Different Country,” teaches users how they can take advantage of their geographic location to save as much as 30% on their next booking.
“Our new blog and YouTube series was designed with our members in mind,” commented Charles Kao, Founder and CEO of TravelSecrets.com. “Travel Secrets is on a mission to save them 10-30% on hotel rates compared to rates available on major hotel booking sites, and with these new tools, we’re confident we will help them do exactly that.”

New Hotel Booking Site TravelSecrets.com is Disrupting the Online Travel Agency Space - News & announcements
While hotels groups and mainstream aggregators are battling it out to control the market, Travel Secrets is building a community based on significant savings for travelersTravelSecrets.com - the members-only online travel club on a mission to help its community make substantial savings when booking hotels - is disrupting the online travel agency (OTA) sector by focusing on aggressive pricing and organic growth.
As the popularity of alternative accommodation such as vacation rentals continues to fall, major OTAs Expedia and Booking.com are battling it out through advertising and SEO strategies to win over travelers who are returning to hotel stays. The competition translates to millions spent in marketing costs, detracting from the savings these OTAs are able to pass onto hopeful holidaymakers.
However, price remains the most influential factor for people booking travel, especially when visiting somewhere for the first time, and Travelsecrets.com is able to provide rates at an average of 20% lower than the major OTAs. The new booking site derives its competitive advantage from a unique business model: a word-of-mouth marketing strategy that allows the club to pass on a greater proportion of its savings to members.
“We put in the legwork to find low-cost, high-quality hotel bookings for our members, who can be confident they are getting the best possible price,” commented Charles Kao, Founder and CEO of TravelSecrets.com. “It’s a straightforward arrangement - one that reflects what truly matters to today’s customers.”

Travel Secrets Founder is Making Travel Accessible in a Highly Price-Sensitive Market - News & announcements
With studies suggesting that brand loyalty is easily eroded in the presence of a good deal, Travel Secrets is attracting members with undeniable savings
TravelSecrets.com - the free-to-join, members-only travel club on a mission to help its users save substantially when booking their hotels - understands that price is the most influential factor for leisure travelers and is proud to offer significant savings compared with leading travel booking sites.
A recent survey from Lucidworks revealed that despite claims of loyalty to certain hotel brands, travelers from the US and UK would abandon them if it meant saving $100. Only 20% of holiday makers are unwavering in their support of a hotel group. Even in the luxury sector, where brand loyalty is typically stronger, customers would rather find a deal on an aggregate booking site.
This cohort of savvy searchers would be lucky to come across TravelSecrets.com. In the name of the site lies the key to its competitive advantage and the reason it is able to offer hotel stays at 10-30% less than leading aggregators such as Booking.com and Expedia. While not exactly a secret, the company doesn’t spend a penny on marketing and relies on word-of-mouth to reach new audiences meaning most of the volume-based cost savings are passed directly onto its users.
Charles Kao, Founder and CEO of TravelSecrets.com, runs a lean machine. He started the website in 1995 and built a team of travel experts that between them have more than 150 years of experience.
“As the Travel Secrets community grows, the stronger it gets,” explains Kao. “Now that aggregate sites are undoubtedly the simplest and most cost-effective way to book travel, we hope that more people will discover the club.”

TravelSecrets.com is Taking On the Hotel Booking Industry, One Low Rate at a Time - News & announcements
The free-to-join, members-only travel club is helping users save up to 30% more than they would by using an industry-leading site like Booking.com, Priceline, or Expedia
TravelSecrets.com - the free-to-join, members-only travel club on a mission to help its users save substantially when booking their hotels - is proud to be taking on the hotel booking industry, one low rate at a time.
Valued at nearly $1 trillion, the online travel booking market is larger than ever before. Yet, nearly 90% of the market share is controlled by just two major players: Booking.com and Expedia. The result? Lower competition and higher prices for consumers.
Until now.
Founded by travel experts and pioneers in the online travel space with more than 150 years of experience between them, TravelSecrets.com is focused on providing hotel bookings at the lowest rates available. At a time when entrenched industry behemoths are obliged to maximize their profits and rewarding their shareholders, TravelSecrets.com has been able to help its members comparatively save between 10-30% from prices at Booking.com and Expedia.
TravelSecrets.com is able to do this by operating almost solely on a word-of-mouth basis. By cutting out advertising costs and working off of low margins as well as high volume, it’s able to pass along massive savings compared to its competitors, allowing its members to afford to take their dream vacations at a time when travel-related costs are skyrocketing.
“As someone who has worked in the travel booking space for decades, I know firsthand just how much consumers can be offered 10-30% lower prices for hotel bookings,” says Charles Kao, the Founder and CEO of TravelSecrets.com. “These established brands are massive Goliaths and have to do maintain high overheads. I started TravelSecrets.com in 1995 to take a different approach.”
He added, “At a time when inflation and rising costs are impacting everyone, by passing along all the savings possible, we hope to continue helping our members have incredible, life-changing experiences.”

“When I first came across TravelSecrets.com, I really did think it was too good to be true,” says Jim S., a new TravelSecrets.com member. “My wife and I really wanted to take our little girls to Disneyworld this summer, but the flights alone were insanely expensive and almost twice as much as when we first looked last summer. But, thankfully, we were still able to make our week-long trip happen because we found great hotel deals on TravelSecrets.com. We saved over $600 from what we would have spent if we booked through Booking.com or Expedia.”
