Canadian Affair, the UK’s largest tour operator to Canada, is celebrating five years of successful sales through the travel trade during which its number of trade partners has grown consistently.

Since starting sales through the travel trade in November 2018, Canadian Affair has invested significantly in its work with the travel trade, and now has a dedicated trade team of five people. Trade sales have grown substantially year on year from the outset, and Canadian Affair has continued to increase trade engagement activities over the years with FAM trips, regular face-to-face visits, support of agent events, regular POS material and promotional items.

To honour its key trade partners, Canadian Affair is launching the CAFTA Awards (Canadian Affair Travel Agent Awards) as a one-off event to mark this milestone. The travel trade team will be awarding the top 20 agents who have delivered the most revenue to Canadian Affair since 2018.

Alongside the CAFTAs, Canadian Affair’s trade team will be embarking on a ‘Thank You’ tour across the country to distribute dedicated Canadian themed items including maple cookies, Canada framed prints, chocolate boxes and candles.

Chris Hedley, Managing Director of Canadian Affair, said: “The travel trade have been integral to the growth and success of Canadian Affair over the past five years, and we wanted to celebrate their work and contribution to our business. Our commitment to engaging and rewarding our agent partners is paramount, with our new CAFTAs designed to demonstrate our appreciation, and we are confident that our travel trade engagement programme will continue to grow in the next five years.”

Canadian Affair frequently looks for innovative ways to reward its agents and provide high valued holiday offerings. Its partnership with Just For Laughs, the Iconic Experiences microsite and their monthly incentives are a testament to its commitment to its agents.
