It’s turning out to be the most wonderful time of the year for Gdańsk as the city has been nominated in the award for Best Christmas market 2025.
The nomination has come from European Best Destinations and votes in the competition will be cast by internet users worldwide who will decide who takes the mantle of Best Christmas Market.
Established in 2009, European Best Destinations is a travel website whose aim is to promote culture and tourism in Europe.
The Gdańsk Christmas Market is one of Europe’s most popular and much-loved Christmas markets and is the only Polish city to be nominated among the other European destinations in the category.
Dorota Wojciechowska, Director of the Polish National Tourist Office in London said: “Everywhere in Poland is magical at Christmas but to soak up the festive atmosphere, there’s nothing quite like our Christmas markets. We wish Gdansk and every other destination the very best of luck!”
Starting in late November, Gdańsk Christmas Market draws visitors from all over the world and in 2020 ranked third in the European Best Christmas Markets competition, and two years ago was runner-up to Budapest. This year, all eyes are on Gdańsk Christmas Market as it goes for the top spot.
The Christmas Market in Gdańsk will open on November 22 and last until December 23. For over four weeks, Targ Węglowy, Tkacka and Bogusławskiego Streets, Wielka Zbrojownia, and the Foregate Complex will transform into a winter wonderland full of festive fun and cheer. Don’t miss it.
Gdansk Christmas market fans can get behind their favourite when the voting link goes live on November 20 2024.
