Holland America Line has concluded its 2025 Alaska season, completing 117 cruises.
Voyages took place across six ships – Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Westerdam and Zaandam – with roundtrip departures from Seattle, Washington; Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; and between Vancouver and Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska.
Highlights included the 28-day ‘Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice’ cruise aboard Westerdam in June, which took in the Summer Solstice sailing to the Bering Sea and Arctic Circle, and seven-day ‘Northbound Glacier Discovery’ and ‘Southbound Glacier Discovery’ itineraries cruising between Whittier (Anchorage) and Vancouver.
Across the sailings, guests enjoyed 130 Alaska brunches featuring regional flavours, consumed 125,000 pounds of fresh, sustainable Alaska seafood certified and traceable to local family fishing businesses, and sipped 85,000 cups of Dutch Pea Soup.
Holland America donated more than $100,000 to local community organisations and conservation partners throughout the region in 2025, while guests raised more than $95,000 in support of the state’s public lands.
In addition, guests took part in the cruise line’s ‘On Deck for a Cause’ programme. This noncompetitive 5k walk is held on every Alaska sailing, with participants donating to join the effort.
Proceeds from these walks benefit Alaska Geographic, the nonprofit education partner of Alaska’s parks, forests, refuges and conservation lands. Over the past three years, the events have raised $250,000.
Looking ahead to 2026, six ships will operate to Alaska, offering roundtrip sailings from Seattle and Vancouver, as well as point-to-point voyages between Whittier and Vancouver.
New for 2026 is the 14-day ‘Great Alaska Explorer’, alongside the return of the 28-day ‘Arctic Circle Solstice’ cruise. In addition, Alaska Cruisetours to Denali National Park and the Yukon range from nine to 18 days and include a stay at Holland America Denali Lodge. A $70 million project is updating the property with improved public spaces and remodelled guest rooms and suites .
Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line, said: “We’ve been bringing visitors to Alaska for almost 80 years, showcasing its natural beauty and wonder for our guests while giving back to the communities that make these journeys possible. We are grateful to everyone on the ground and onboard our ships who helped make this a successful season for our guests. As we look ahead to 2026, our focus remains on creating unforgettable experiences for our guests and supporting the people and places that define Alaska.”
Holland America provides more Alaska glacier-viewing opportunities and more ways to see wildlife than any other cruise line.
