Holland America Line has hosted a special viewing party for travel agents, to celebrate the ongoing ‘Supercruising: Life at Sea’ TV docuseries.
80 agents attended the event at Carnival House, in Southampton, to watch episode six of the eight-part series. They were joined by the Holland America Line UK team and two stars of the show, Captain Eric Barhorst and Chef Sinu Pillai, fleet executive chef.
Agents were treated to the vibrant sounds of a Caribbean steel drum band upon arrival, setting the tone for episode six, which showcases Nieuw Statendam sailing through the islands. Regional cuisine and tropical cocktails were on offer, to help guests further immerse themselves in the spirit of the destination. The event also featured an exclusive Q&A session and interactive quiz, to provide additional insight and reinforce key selling points.
‘Supercruising: Life at Sea’ is set on Holland America’s Nieuw Statendam and Rotterdam ships, sharing a behind-the-scenes look at life onboard, revealing both the guest experience and what it takes to operate a cruise ship around the clock. Episodes are on Thursdays at 8pm on Channel 4, running to August 21, and are also available to stream via channel4.com
Karen Farndell, associate vice president sales & marketing UK & Ireland at Holland America Line, said: “We’re thrilled that so many trade partners joined us at Carnival House for this watch-along of ‘Supercruising: Life at Sea’. Agents are the heart of our success, and this event is just one of the ways we are recognising their dedication and support.
“The docuseries brings the elegance, adventure and onboard experiences of Holland America to life, offering the ideal tool to prompt enquiries and bookings. It’s proved a great success with viewers and is opening up everything we offer to our loyal guests as well as a whole new audience.”
