Authentic India, India’s Best Wildlife, and new South African safari launched with 2024 and 2025 dates available

Escorted tours specialist Newmarket Holidays has launched two new tours to India – Authentic India and India’s Best Wildlife & the Taj Mahal, and expanded its South African safari collection with new tour On Safari in South Africa – Karongwe Game Reserve.

The Authentic India itinerary offers 15-days of immersive experiences, culture and heritage, with highlights including tours of Old Delhi’s historical landmarks, a culinary walking tour, a visit to an initiative focused on women’s empowerment and child education, and talks with owners of local retreats and hotels to learn about their entrepreneurial journeys. Guests soak up the local spirit with an outing to a vegetable market led by a local guide and then enjoy dinner at their home, take a rickshaw ride through Jaipur, cycle around Udaipur, and cruise across Lake Pichola to see an evening aarti ceremony, and they also visit historic monuments that include the incredible red fort at Agra, the giant Chan Baori Stepwell, the Amber Fort and the iconic Taj Majal. Prices from £2,687 per person, saving £298 until 4 December 2023, including half-board accommodation, tours and transfers, with return flights from Heathrow and six departures between November 2024 and November 2025.

India’s Best Wildlife & the Taj Mahal is a 14-day adventure that starts with a tour of Mumbai, India’s largest city, before transferring to the ‘Tiger Capital’ of Nagpur for safaris through India’s best wildlife viewing parks, Pench, Kanha, and Bandhavgarh. There’s also time to visit a tribal village and take trips to the UNESCO-listed Khajuraho temple complex, the 16th-century Agra Fort, the Lotus Temple and a sunset visit to the famed Taj Mahal. Prices start from £3,240 per person, saving £354 until 4 December 2023, and include five nights half board and six nights full board accommodation, tours, transfers and return flights from Heathrow, with five departures from January to November 2025.

On Safari in South Africa – Karongwe Game Reserve is set in a luxury tented camp surrounded by the ‘Big Five’ Karongwe Private Game Reserve and with a spa and a swimming pool overlooking the Makhutsi River for unwinding. The tour includes six morning and six late afternoon game drives, plus a guided nature walk, tree planting, and local gin tasting among the activities. Optional extras include a cooking class, anti-poaching walk and a photography workshop. Prices start from £2,546 per person, saving £449 until 4 December, and including full board accommodation, games drives, and return flights to Heathrow, with departures from January to November 2025.

Verity Rice, Director of Product, Purchasing & Operations at Newmarket Holidays, says: “India sales are doing increasingly well, and these two new tours offer guests’ new views of this exhilarating destination. Authentic India uses small family-run hotels and explores responsible tourism to take customers under the skin of the country, and no other tour operator offers the unique touring combination we have brought together for India’s Best Wildlife, which covers less discovered national parks for numerous opportunities to see native animals in beautiful settings.

“Demand is booming for our South African safaris, so our new Karongwe Game Reserve tour offers excellent value for money and adds new half-term departure dates for families.
