Pop royalties are headed to Calvià for Mallorca Live Festival.

Majorca‘s answer to Glastonbury, Mallorca Live Festival <https://zc1.maillist-manage.eu/ …>, will return next month. The largest and most renowned international music festival in the Balearic Islands, Mallorca Live Festival, will take place from 24 to 26 June at Calvià’s Old Aquapark.

Launched in 2016, Mallorca Live Festival took place on a much smaller scale over the past couple of years due to COVID but speaking at a recent press event in Madrid, the festival’s director, Álvaro Martínez, said that the event is now “100% back to normality”.

So far, 83 acts have been signed up <https://zc1.maillist-manage.eu/ …> to perform on the 4 different stages set within the 25,000 square-metre venue. Headlined by Christina Aguilera, Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Jeff Mills and Supergrass amongst others, the 3-day festival aims at mixing genres from some of the biggest artists of the moment both in Spain and on the international music scene.

Mallorca Live Festival is expected to attract 28,000 spectators each day and Calvià’s mayor Alfonso Rodríguez estimates that some 30,000 music fans will stay in local hotels over the festivities. For him, “the most important thing about the event is its promotional impact and “the seal of quality” that the festival will give to the municipality”.

Revellers travelling to the island for the occasion will have an opportunity to explore what is considered by many as one of the most attractive island destinations in the world. The region of Calvià is a benchmark for the island, a special place between coast and mountain which has been developed to offer all the services that visitors could possibly need.
