The 2025 study by Numbeo scored all 146 countries across the globe using a safety index, which assessed the overall level of crime in a given nation.

Key Highlights:

  • Ranking Achievement: Saudi has jumped ahead of prominent tourism destinations like the UK, France, Spain, and Italy, reflecting its strategic efforts to enhance its tourism offerings and infrastructure.
  • Growth in Tourism: Saudi has seen a substantial increase in international tourist arrivals, driven by its successful implementation of Vision 2030 initiatives. This includes the development of new destinations, improved visa processes, and enhanced travel experiences.
  • Economic Impact: The tourism sector is playing a crucial role in diversifying Saudi’s economy, with significant contributions to GDP and job creation.

In 2023, 44% of all visitors were women, proving Saudi is now a top destination for women and families, and a leading G20 country in safety. Of those visitors, 36% were solo female travellers—a testament to Saudi’s rising popularity among female visitors.
