London by the South China Sea
A new £1.6bn mega resort is set for its grand opening today, bringing a taste of London to the Far East.
The Londoner officially opens in gambling mecca Macau, complete with a life size Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
It features the changing of the guard, a Crystal Palace lobby and a ‘Black Cab Escape’ attraction.
Naturally, there is a red double decker bus too.
The resort comprises 6,000 guestrooms across five hotels and more than 40 dining venues.
Operator Sands China along with The Londoner’s brand ambassador David Beckham open the resort today.
Beckham helped design the Suites by David Beckham accommodation – 14 invite only themed suites located on the top floors of the resort’s The Londoner Hotel.
It is located on Macau’s Cotai Strip, close to other themed mega resorts The Venetian and The Parisian.
