1,000 complaints to US DOT from one incident
The US Department of Transportation has been nundated with more than 1,000 calls from passengers, airline employees and others involved in airline Christmas disruptions, according to Business Traveler.
The major disruptions involved US Airways and Comair.
US Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta in the wake of the problems asked for consumer complaints.
Comair cited severe snowstorms for its reason to cancel hundreds of flights between Christmas Day and 29 December. The Comair disruptions involved more than 30,000 passengers a day.
US Airways cited bad weather for the cancellations of hundred of Christmas time flights. Hundreds of passenger bags were stuck at a US Airways hub in Philadelphia.
