Sailing is the UK’s fastest growing and most successful sporting activity, with our yachtsman achieving global success with round the world sailing records, world Champions and impressive Olympic medal hauls, find out for yourself why racing yachts is drawing so many of our top athletes into it! and in 2015 our sponsores will be Bermuda who are hosting the 2017 America’s Cup.

Set in the headquarters of British sailing, the Solent, the regatta has proven year after year to be a winner for all of those who have participated. A great way to entertain clients, reward and motivate staff or simply find a group of friends from work who like the idea of some competitive racing and a great day out on the water.

The SIXTH McKenzie Cup will provide a great opportunity to race in a fun relaxed regatta, with full regatta support, against other companies in the travel industry, without the expense of having to enter a major race week.

The whole regatta day is designed to be fun and relaxed with a competitive edge, sailing in the morning… and then the now famous (or infamous) party in the afternoon!

Teams can be made up of keen sailors or complete novices, each team will have a professional skipper and all boats will be matched so the racing will be close.

Bermuda and the America’s Cup

As home of the America’s Cup, the island is seeing significant investment in its infrastructure; the Old Naval Dockyard is being transformed into a race village and all-weather entertainment venue. A number of hotels have completed large scale renovations, including a $90 million dollar investment at the Hamilton Princess Resort and Beach Club, and more hotels are to be revamped. The 2015 America’s Cup World Series Racing events take place in Portsmouth 23-26 July and in Bermuda 16-18 October.

The sub-tropical Atlantic island, only a seven hour flight from London Gatwick, is famed for its stunning landscapes, iconic pink coral soft beaches, shallow reefs, world class shipwreck diving and having the most golf courses per square mile. Maintaining much of its old world charm with its colourful houses, historic forts and UNESCO World Heritage Site of St George, the island is steeped in British traditions. However, the mystique of Bermuda has evolved to combine picturesque and historic surroundings with an adventurous island spirit, offering range of invigorating experiences such as cliff jumping, trail running, mountain biking and much more.
