23% increase in numbers of passengers transported by Royal Jordanian in March 2007
Royal Jordanian says that they transported 161,000 passengers in March 2007, a 23% increase over the number carried in the same month in 2006, when 131,000 passengers traveled aboard RJ.
Vice President/Marketing, Sales and Services Hussein Dabbas said that the seat factor and departures rose by 19% in March this year, the seat factor reaching 70.6%, against 60% over the corresponding period last year. RJ also operated 2,124 departures in comparison to 1,784 departures in March 2006.
He also added that the on-time performance improved remarkably, from 86% in March last year to 89% this March, with this figure, said Dabbas, ia high rate when compared to others in the international air transport industry.
Moreover, aircraft utilization increased from 8.8 hours per day to 9.5 hours per day for the month compared.
Dabbas attributed the achievements to the airline’s improved air and ground services, particularly since the introduction of the six newly manufactured Airbus A320s and A321s, and their state-of-the-art features aboard, including personal video for each economy and J class passenger.
He also pointed out that this February marked a significant increase of 20.5% in the number of RJ passengers over February last year, with all this indicating that the first quarter of this year will post better results than those achieved in the corresponding period last year.
At the same time, Royal Jordanian officially joining the oneworld global airline alliance at the beginning of this month is bound to positively affect RJ’s overall operations and revenues this year.
