A fairy tale Christmas………….
If you thought that Christmas in Australie was rather incongrous, then you should see Singapore decked out in all its seasonal finery ready for the switching on of the tropical city’s Christmas lights last Saturday!
A much anticipated event, the Lion City will be a sea of twinkling lanterns, fairly lights and giant Christmas trees, with a liberal sprinkling of Santas around the hot, humid but highly seasonal streets.
If you want to experience some serious Christmas shopping you have to get to Singapore, with the massive multitude of stores loaded with pre Christmas bargains and great prices, with of course the exchange rate making purchasing your gifts even more effective and greater value!
This year’s colour theme for Singapore is red, white and gold with decorations stretching from Orchard Road to Marina Bay and a spectacular progamme of shows, concerts, musicals and more right through to the end of January.
You can also catch a free tour bus to see a real Singapoe Christmas, which thousands of international visitors do every year.
Shows include Scrooge, the musical and Nutcracker – Xmas Fairytale on ice – as I said on ice and in Singapore – a must see.
