A first for Carnival
The 2,974-passenger Carnival Liberty is en route to being Carnival’s first “Fun Ship” based year-round in Fort Lauderdale.
The cruise line said the new ship will also launch the industry’s only year-round six- and eight-day cruise schedule from Fort Lauderdale next fall.
Six-day cruises will depart Sundays and visit Freeport, The Bahamas; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Cozumel, Mexico.
Eight-day voyages will alternate to the eastern and western Caribbean.
Eight-day eastern Caribbean voyages will have five ports: San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas/St. John, US Virgin Islands; Antigua, Lesser Antilles; Tortola/Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands; and Nassau, The Bahamas.
The western Caribbean cruises will include Limon, Costa Rica; Colon, Panama, and Cozumel, Mexico.
Carnival is now taking reservations for the new cruises. Prices start at $499.
