A ‘Model T’ of a tour now being offered

Thursday, 06 Nov, 2006 0

Here’s a tour Henry Ford would have liked: driving around California’s roads in a real Model T, circa 1915-1926.

T-Tours offers several models. The tours can be done with a group of up to a dozen couples or alone.

Housing is provided along the way. Luggage is moved by the T-Tour Staff.

Tours range from one-day rentals for $400 for two couples in one touring car to a six-day tour that is priced at $4,900. The later includes theatre tickets and a train ride.

The California-based T-Tours is currently offering a trip through the Yosemite National park and trips through California’s Central Coast. The later includes a visit to the famous William Randolph Hearst Castle.

But the cars are old? Won’t they break down?

“Although the Model T’s are all original, they are all in excellent condition,” said a spokesperson.

They’re all serviced and maintained by qualified mechanics.

And in the unlikely event there’s a problem, the company says it will replace the Model T with another one after minimal delays.
