A380 to start flying Singapore to London

An AAP report says that the world’s largest passenger plane [pictured right] will soon land at the world’s busiest airport, with Singapore Airlines announcing the A380 Airbus will start flying from Singapore to London’s Heathrow Airport from March 18.

The A380, capable of carrying 471 passengers in three different classes, already flies daily between Singapore and Sydney and a statement from Singapore Airlines said the non-stop flight to London will be the start of a daily return service.

“The A380 will provide a capacity expansion on the popular Singapore-London route,” the airline said.

“For the first time, an aircraft larger than the Boeing 747-400 will fly this route, thereby meaning more seats without the need for more frequencies to what is already one of the world’s busiest airports.”
