AAA: Thanksgiving travel numbers close to pre- pandemic level
Thanksgiving travel will be back to nearly pre-pandemic numbers this year, AAA says. It estimates 53.4 million Americans will travel between November 24 and November 28, up from 47.1 million that traveled over Thanksgiving in 2020.
It is just 5% down on the number of travelers in 2019. It expects 48.3 million will travel by car, back while 4.2 million Americans will fly to their destination. AAA says Tuesday, November 23 will likely be the busiest and most expensive day to fly during the holidays.
