ABTA hikes subscription fees
ABTA has raised its base subscription fee by more than £200.
The minimum rate has gone up from £540 to £750.
Band rates applied to turnover above that included in the minimum subscription have also gone up by 10%.
The rate rises, which apply from July 1, are the first increases for “several years”.
ABTA justified the rise by saying core operating costs have increased with inflation and the organisation has added to the range of membership benefits.
Chief executive Mark Tanzer said: “I can assure you that we keep a very tight rein on operating costs, and have outsourced or ceased activities that were regarded as inefficient or unproductive.
“Furthermore, we are looking to make further economies in respect of our occupation of Newman Street.
“The ABTA Board is very aware of the need to demonstrate value for money to our members and we believe the new rates are justified and necessary.”
