ABTA’s former media head returns in senior management position
ABTA’s former head of communications Victoria Bacon is to return to the Association as head of brand and business development.
In her new role, she will focus on the development of the ABTA Travel with confidence brand and on ABTA’s commercial activities, as well as directing its communications.
Bacon left ABTA last September, following the Travel Convention, to join non-profit organisation London First as director of communications.
ABTA said her new senior management position, which starts on April 13, follows a review of its current and future needs.
Bacon, who was previously ABTA’s head of communications for nearly four years, will have overall responsibility for the strategic management of the ABTA brand, ensuring consistency and optimising its commercial potential, along with leading on relationship management with members, it said.
ABTA chief executive Mark Tanzer said: "I am delighted to welcome Victoria back to the association.
"Victoria brings to her role as head of brand and business development a strong background in marketing and communications, within both an agency and plc environment, together with her knowledge of ABTA and experience in developing the Travel with confidence strategy."
Bacon added: "I am very excited about the opportunities this role brings both for the Association and for me personally. ABTA works tirelessly on behalf of its Members, it is a powerful and trusted brand, and comprises a motivated and talented team. It has great potential to grow even stronger in the future."
