Acapulco introduces new developments in culture

Monday, 22 Jun, 2007 0

Acapulco improves its status as leader among top tourist destinations throughout Mexico by announcing its participation in the state of Guererro’s new Jaguar Route and the development of the Mundo Imperial complex. Further diversifying Acapulco from other tourist destinations throughout Mexico, the Jaguar Route exploration tour and Mundo Imperial go beyond the sun and sand proving Acapulco is a destination rich in both culture and innovation.

Considered the embodiment of Guerrero, the jaguar symbolizes the mountains, starlit nights, lush vegetation and blue waters all of which can be seen en route. The Jaguar Route enables tourists to journey through Pre-Hispanic history to the Conquest, from Taxco de Alarcón to Acapulco. Along the way, participants will visit two very important archeological zones: La Organero de Xochipala, which is the ceremonial center of Mezcala culture and the Archeological zone of Tehuacalco.

The Route offers a unique insight of Guererro’s history culminating in Acapulco, home to San Diego’s Fort, Palma Sola, Diego Rivera’s Wall and the Mask Museum. Eco-friendly travelers can experience the releasing of the tortoises’ at Coyuca and Tres Palos Lagoon as well as a traditional canoe ride through Cayucos Lagoon. After exploring the Bay of Acapulco, the tour ends with a magnificent sunset illuminating the Acapulco Bay and a performance by the Quebrada (cliff) divers. The Mundo Imperial complex will be the cornerstone in the renaissance of Acapulco, with more than 43 breakout rooms, a 4,000 seat state-of-the-art theatre, 115,000 square feet of meeting space, a 15,000 square foot spa and high-tech luxury group hotel with more than 800 guest rooms and eight different dining options.

Located in the new and exclusive Acapulco Diamante district, Mundo Imperial will house Casa Imperial hotel, Expo Imperial meeting and convention center and Foro Imperial theatre. Set to open in Spring 2008, this mega-complex will establish an unprecedented level of luxury and excellence in business, hospitality and entertainment in Acapulco. Mundo Imperial is a private development owned by Grupo Autofin Mexico. For more information visit www.mundoimperial.com

Both Mundo Imperial and the new Jaguar Route emphasize Acapulco’s increase in tourism and investments in the last two years and indicate spectacular development in its infrastructure. For this reason, Acapulco continues in its role as a traditional tourist destination as well as one appealing to business, group and eco-travelers alike.

With 365 days of sun splashing the 12 miles of golden sandy beaches and the lush landscapes surrounded by the Sierra Madre Mountains, Acapulco is a destination worthy of the name paradise.
