Accor launches online room sale

Saturday, 26 Sep, 2006 0

In a first for the Asia Pacific region, Accor will hold a multi-million dollar Summer sale to relaunch its www.accorhotels.com.au, www.accorhotels.co.nz and www.accorhotels.com.fj websites with 50,000 rooms for sale at just $50 each.

The sale is for a limited time, with the $50 rate valid for bookings from 1 December 2006 to 31 January 2007.

Rates are expressed in local dollar terms ie AUD$50 for Australian hotels, NZ$50 for New Zealand hotels and FJD $50 for Fiji (all including GST).

Customers can book as many nights as they would like, subject to availability, and are free to book several short breaks at different destinations if they desire.

Bookings can only be made via the new www.accorhotels.com.au, www.accorhotels.co.nz and www.accorhotels.com.fj websites and are not available for phone bookings.

With more than 75 hotels to choose from across the Novotel, Mercure, All Seasons, Ibis and Formule 1 brands throughout Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, this is the biggest online sale ever launched by a hotel group.

“We are very pleased to be leading the way with our new website and we wanted to launch it with a major promotion that would encourage people to visit our new site,” said Michael Issenberg, Accor’s Managing Director Asia Pacific.

“With our website recording a 40% increase in bookings in 2006 (year to date) over 2005, we know customers are increasingly looking online for competitive rates and believe there is no better value in the marketplace than this $50 sale.”

Accor’s new improved websites (www.accorhotels.com.au, www.accorhotels.co.nz and www.accorhotels.com.fj) will provide Accor guests with increased flexibility to book a selection of room styles, rates and “added extras” such as breakfast, spa treatments and late check-out.

Mr Issenberg said he hoped the sale would encourage more domestic and regional travel at a time when local tourism has been undergoing a downturn.
