AccorHotels announces first Maldives resort
AccorHotels is set to make its mark on the Maldives next month.
The French hospitality group will take over Dhevanafushi Maldives Luxury Resort on the private island of Meradhoo.
Accor will manage the resort beginning September 1, 2017 with a view to rebranding it to a Raffles Hotels and Resorts property after a refurbishment which will be completed in late 2018.
Dhevanafushi Maldives Luxury Resort, Managed by AccorHotels has 37 villas.
Current resort amenities include three restaurants, a spa, over-the-water fitness centre, yoga and water sports programmes.
"We are thrilled to announce our very first luxury resort in the Maldives at a time when the region is enjoying excellent growth, especially with travellers from Asia Pacific," said AccorHotels, upper Southeast and Northeast Asia chief operating officer, Patrick Basset.
"AccorHotels is bringing to the resort our expertise renowned in our Raffles, Fairmont and Sofitel brands, along with the benefits of our global loyalty programme, Le Club AccorHotels."
Meradhoo island can be reached by a 55-minute flight from Male Airport and a 15-minute speedboat transfer.
