Aegean Airlines reinstates Birmingham flight
Aegean Airlines will reinstate flights from Birmingham to Athens next year, when it will be offering a total of 19.2 million seats to 155 destinations, including four cities in the UK.
Greece’s largest carrier will offer two flights a week from Birmingham and it will offer an additional weekly flight from Edinburgh, although it has not yet confirmed the launch dates for the additional services.
Aegean also flies from London and Manchester.
UK passengers can connect in Athens to flights to many of the Greek islands, including Corfu, Kos, Crete, Santorini and Mykonos.
CEO Dimitris Gerogiannis said: "2020 constitutes a new beginning for Aegean, as we are further investing in our network and overall activity from eight bases in Greece and Cyprus.
"With 11 new routes, 1.5 million additional seats and 19.2 million seats in total, and of course with the addition of the first 6 A320neo family aircraft to our fleet, we create a new growth potential for our company."
