Africa specialist folds
The Civil Aviation Authority has called in the £320,000 ATOL bond of Ghana Travel Limited after it went bust.
Barnsley-based Ghana Travel specialised in seat only sales to Ghana and sold both direct to the public and through travel agencies.
The CAA today issued the following advice: “All customers of Ghana Travel who booked in the UK under the cover of ATOL will be flown back to the UK and the CAA is making arrangements for return flights. Most customers will be able to return at the time scheduled, but some may have their flight times changed.
“Any customers who were due to fly with Ghana Travel from the UK should not go to the airport. There will be no further out-bound flying from the UK for any Ghana Travel customers.
“All Ghana Travel customers who booked in the UK and have not travelled will be able to claim a refund from the CAA; details are on the ATOL website at www.atol.org.uk. The CAA will also be sending claim forms to all customers, either direct or via their travel agent.”
Any Ghana Travel customers with urgent queries can call the CAA during office hours on 020 7453 6350.
