African congress hopes to lure US tourists to Africa
More than 300 international delegates are expected to attend this year’s Africa Travel Association (ATA) annual congress in Zambia.
The congress is scheduled to take place from May 11 to 16 in the country’s tourist capital of Livingstone and preparations are reportedly at an “advanced stage”.
The ATA aims to encourage and promote travel by North Americans into Africa and hosts the congress in a different African country each year. Last year’s congress was held in Guinea and this is the third time that Zambia will host the
meeting.
“This is a great opportunity because the participants deal directly with the travel trade in America. We hope the congress will help to increase tourism trade into Zambia,” said Zambia National Tourist Board acting public relations officer, Doris Kofi. Information supplied by Travel News Now
