Agents urged to personalise cruises
Travel agents have been urged to use the opportunity to personalise cruise itineraries.
The message went out to 600 agents attending the UK Cruise Convention in Dover.
Expert panellists told agents concerned about discounting in the cruise sector that they had the ability to package up cruises in a very personalised way to meet the needs of individual customers.
The ability to dynamically package cruises has grown as lines offer more cruise-only rates, enabling agents to add flights and other ground arrangements around the ship-based holiday.
Andy Harmer, director of convention organisers the Association of Cruise Experts, said he had been very pleased with the first day’s sessions which included Disney Cruise Line formally unveiling its plans to sail from Dover next summer.
