Air Astana launches new flights to Seoul, Tbilisi
Kazakh national carrier Air Astana has launched new services to Seoul, South Korea and Tbilisi, Georgia from its Astana hub.
The weekly Seoul flights are served by Boeing 767-300ER aircaft and is in addition to Air Astana’s existing three times a week service from Almaty to the South Korean capital.
The new flight is operated on a codeshare basis with Asiana Airlines.
Last month the two airlines signed an agreement to collaborate on a joint program for frequent flyers.
The Astana-Tbilis route operates twice weekly on 97-seater Embraer E190 jets and along with the current five times a week service from Almaty, offers a daily service between Kazakhstan and Georgia.
"The new services from Astana to Seoul and Tbilisi mark another significant step in building the network of international flights from Kazakhstan’s capital, which fully meets the "Nurly Jol" policy proposed by Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan" said president and CEO Peter Foster.
"I’m confident that the new services will be prove to be popular with business executives and tourists."
Air Astana, which has been awarded a 4-Star rating by Skytrax since 2012, operates a fleet of 30 aircraft serving 39 international and domestic destinations.
