Air Berlin to add Belfast-Stansted
German budget carrier is expanding its UK hub at Stansted by providing flights to Belfast.
The airline is to offer £19 one-way lead-in fares from Belfast City Airport to Stansted and tariffs from £29 to almost 10 destinations on the Continent served from the Essex airport.
The service starts on May 2 with two flights a day on weekdays and daily frequencies on Saturdays and Sundays.
Air Berlin, Europe’s third largest low cost airline, serves Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hanover, Leipzig, Munster/Osnabruck, Nuremberg, Paderborn and Vienna from Stansted.
The airline claims to offer “superfast” connections including full baggage transfer at Stansted.
The new Belfast link is also being seen as a boost to indound tourism to Northern Ireland.
