Air Busan starts flying to Guam
South Korean carrier Air Busan has touched down on US soil for the first time, completing its inaugural flight to the US Pacific territory of Guam this week.
Air Busan will fly to Guam four times weekly with service on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
It is a timely move as inbound tourism from South Korea grew 14% in June.
This is in contrast to a fall of 5% from Japan, Guam’s largest source market.
The South Korea-Guam market is heating up with services from Jeju Air, United Airlines, Jin Air and Korean Air.
A new entrant, T’Way Air recently announced intentions to serve Guam from South Korea using all economy class Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
