Air Canada boosts Montreal summer schedule to Europe
Air Canada is boosting summer capacity to Europe for the Montreal market with seasonal nonstop flights to Venice beginning May 14, 2015.
The carrier said it will also double frequency of flights to Paris and add services to Athens and Barcelona from Montreal.
It says this will represent a combined capacity increase of 20% compared to last summer and 50% over the past two years.
"Air Canada continues its international expansion from Montreal next summer led by the addition of new Air Canada rouge service between Montreal and Venice," said Benjamin Smith, president of passenger airlines at Air Canada.
"This reinforces Montréal-Trudeau Airport as a strategic hub and international gateway for Air Canada, connecting its Québec, Atlantic Canada and US networks with its European routes," he added.
Air Canada rouge services to Athens will double to four times a week and to Barcelona to three-times weekly from Montreal.
Between June and September 2015 capacity to Paris-Charles de Gaulle will double using 211-seat Boeing 767-300ERs on the route.
Air Canada currently offers 10 European routes from Montreal, including Geneva, Frankfurt, London, and Brussels.
